ICE Detains Unauthorized Immigrant Posing as Officer

Lorna Morales,
 October 18, 2025

In a stunning development this week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended Radule Bojovic, an unauthorized immigrant from Montenegro, in Hanover Park, Ill. Shockingly, Bojovic was working as a police officer, equipped with a badge, firearm, and pension, as Breitbart reports. This arrest raises serious questions about border security.

Bojovic first entered the United States on a B-2 tourist visa, with a mandatory departure date by the end of March 2015. He disregarded this requirement, remaining in the country unlawfully for nearly a decade. His prolonged presence highlights glaring gaps in immigration enforcement.

Despite his unauthorized status, Bojovic secured a position as a police officer in Hanover Park, a suburb near the sanctuary city of Chicago, Ill. How someone in violation of federal law obtained such a role is baffling. It points to systemic failures in vetting processes.

Operation Midway Blitz Uncovers Violations

The arrest came as part of ICE’s Operation Midway Blitz, a sweeping initiative that has netted nearly 1,000 detentions in the sanctuary state of Illinois. Bojovic’s case stands out due to his sensitive position of authority. This operation underscores the urgency of restoring law enforcement integrity.

Further scrutiny reveals Bojovic was approved for his policing role by the Pension Board of Trustees in January of this year. His starting salary was roughly $79,000 annually. Taxpayers funded a lawbreaker’s paycheck, a bitter pill for law-abiding citizens to swallow.

ICE officials disclosed that Bojovic’s earnings this year burdened American taxpayers with over $205,000 in costs. This includes more than $9,200 in FICA and Medicare taxes. Such figures fuel frustration among conservatives who prioritize fiscal responsibility and legal compliance.

Official Statements Highlight Policy Failures

Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin sharply criticized the situation surrounding Bojovic’s employment. “Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities, he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers,” she stated. Her words cut to the core of sanctuary state controversies.

From a conservative viewpoint, it’s hard to fathom how progressive policies permit such blatant disregard for federal law under the guise of inclusivity. When unauthorized individuals wield badges and guns, public safety is jeopardized. This isn’t compassion—it’s negligence.

McLaughlin also emphasized the broader mission under current leadership. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is restoring law and order. Criminal illegal aliens have no place in our communities, especially on our police forces,” she declared. Her statement aligns with a firm commitment to national security.

Public Trust and Taxpayer Burden

Immediately following McLaughlin’s remarks, one must consider the irony of a so-called sanctuary state undermining the very laws its officers swear to uphold. President Trump’s administration is clearly prioritizing accountability over political correctness. This stance resonates with many who feel betrayed by lax policies.

The financial toll of Bojovic’s employment is no small matter for hardworking Americans. Over $205,000 in taxpayer funds supported someone who shouldn’t have been here, let alone in uniform. It’s a stark reminder of why enforcement must match rhetoric.

Bojovic’s case is a microcosm of deeper issues with sanctuary jurisdictions that often shield unauthorized migrants from federal oversight. While empathy for individual stories exists, public safety and trust in institutions must come first. Conservative values demand nothing less.

Restoring Integrity to Law Enforcement

Operation Midway Blitz represents a critical step toward addressing these systemic lapses, with nearly 1,000 arrests signaling a no-nonsense approach. Illinois, as a sanctuary state, remains a challenging battleground for such efforts. Yet, persistence is key to meaningful change.

For many right-leaning observers, Bojovic’s arrest under President Trump’s leadership is a welcome signal that law and order are being reclaimed. The idea of an unauthorized immigrant enforcing laws they’ve broken is an absurdity that must end. Sanity in policy must prevail.

Ultimately, this incident in Hanover Park, Ill., serves as a wake-up call for tighter immigration controls and stricter hiring standards in public roles. As ICE continues its work, the hope is for a future where trust in law enforcement isn’t undermined by preventable scandals. America deserves better.
