New Epstein allegations surface in former cellmate's pardon request

Lorna Morales,

Could federal prosecutors have weaponized Jeffrey Epstein’s case to target President Donald Trump? This stunning claim, buried in a recent pardon application, raises serious questions about the integrity of our justice system and the lengths some might go to undermine a sitting president.

In a shocking revelation, Nicholas Tartaglione, a convicted murderer and former cellmate of Epstein, alleges in a July pardon request filing that prosecutors offered Epstein freedom if he implicated Trump in criminal activities, as the New York Post reports.

Epstein’s Arrest, Initial Detention

In July 2019, Epstein was arrested on grave charges of child sex trafficking and conspiracy. He was promptly transferred to the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, a facility known for housing high-profile inmates.

There, Epstein shared a cell with Tartaglione, a former Westchester, New York, K9 officer awaiting trial for a brutal quadruple murder. Their brief cohabitation would later become the source of explosive allegations.

On July 23, 2019, Epstein made a suicide attempt, discovered with neck bruising in his cell. Authorities placed him on suicide watch and assigned a different cellmate upon his return.

Tragic End, Lingering Doubts

Tragically, on Aug. 10, 2019, Epstein was found dead in his cell, with officials ruling his death a suicide by hanging. Suspicions of financial wrongdoing and blackmail swirled around him at the time.

Yet, lapses in security and inadequate evidence collection at the facility have fueled endless speculation. Many Americans, skeptical of official narratives, wonder if the full truth will ever emerge.

The unanswered questions surrounding Epstein’s death only deepen with Tartaglione’s recent claims. His July 2025 pardon application, obtained by The Post, drops a bombshell about alleged prosecutorial overreach.

Allegations of Trump Targeting Emerge

Tartaglione asserts that Epstein confided in him about a disturbing offer from prosecutors. They allegedly promised freedom if Epstein would tie President Trump, then in his first term, to unspecified crimes.

“Prosecutors … told Epstein that if he said President Trump was involved with Epstein’s crimes, he would walk free,” claimed Tartaglione in the filing. Such a deal, if true, reeks of political vendetta.

Let’s be clear: using a notorious criminal like Epstein as a pawn to smear the president of the United States isn’t justice—it’s a witch hunt. The lack of specifics on alleged crimes only heightens the suspicion of agenda-driven lawfare.

Tartaglione’s Own Legal Battles Persist

Meanwhile, Tartaglione’s own story is grim. Convicted in 2024 for murdering four men over a botched 2016 cocaine deal, he claims a worker at his animal sanctuary stole $230,000, sparking the violence. His pardon request alleges a flawed prosecution, with tampered mobile phones and altered video evidence. He also claims a witness, Marcos Cruz, admitted cartel ties but was coerced into changing his story.

Additional accusations point to star witness Joseph Biggs, who met prosecutors 30 times before testifying and received a reduced 17-year sentence in 2024. Tartaglione insists Biggs lied, while the sentencing judge called Tartaglione delusional and racist.

Unresolved Questions, Justice Concerns

Adding to his woes, Tartaglione claims multiple life-threatening attacks since Epstein’s death, resulting in severe injuries requiring a metal plate in his head. Lead prosecutor Maurene Comey, fired by the Justice Department in July 2025, could not be reached for comment. The Department of Justice also declined to respond, leaving Americans in the dark. If Tartaglione’s claims about Epstein hold any weight, they suggest a dangerous politicization of federal power.

In an era where trust in institutions hangs by a thread, these allegations demand scrutiny. Conservatives and fair-minded citizens alike should question whether justice serves the people -- or merely partisan interests.
