Comer Demands Clinton Depositions in Epstein Probe

Time is running out for Bill and Hillary Clinton to dodge accountability in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., has drawn a line in the sand, demanding their presence for depositions tied to a deeply troubling investigation.

House Committee Chairman James Comer is pressing the Clintons to testify about their connections to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, threatening contempt of Congress if they fail to comply soon, as Breitbart reports.

Back in August, subpoenas were issued to the former president and former secretary of state. For over four months, they’ve sidestepped efforts to schedule their testimony. It’s a delay that raises eyebrows about what they might be avoiding.

Subpoenas Issued to Political Heavyweights

Also in August, other high-profile figures received similar summons. Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr, ex-FBI Director Robert Mueller, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and past FBI Director James Comey were called to testify. The breadth of this list signals a serious probe into Epstein’s network.

As early as July, reports surfaced about Bill Clinton’s own admissions. In his 2024 book, "Citizen: My Life After the White House," he confirmed traveling on Epstein’s notorious private plane, dubbed the Lolita Express, for nonprofit work. That connection alone demands scrutiny.

Historical ties deepen the concern. Epstein reportedly visited the White House at least 17 times shortly after Clinton took office in 1993. Such frequent access to power during that era fuels questions about influence and accountability.

White House Visits Raise Red Flags

Fast forward to November, and Chairman Comer wasn’t playing games. He sent a direct letter to the Clintons’ attorney, insisting they appear in person for depositions. This isn’t a casual request—it’s tied to a federal investigation into Epstein and Maxwell’s crimes.

Just last Friday, Comer issued a public statement. He announced that the depositions are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, putting public pressure on the Clintons. The clock is ticking louder than ever.

A spokesperson for Comer delivered a stern update. “We communicated to the Clintons’ attorney today that they must appear next week or provide a date in early January to appear for their depositions or we will begin contempt of Congress proceedings. They’ve been dragging their feet for over four months. Time’s up,” the spokesperson said.

Contempt Proceedings Loom Over Clintons

That warning isn’t just tough talk; it’s a reminder that no one is above the law—not even political royalty. If the Clintons think they can outrun this, they’re underestimating the resolve of a Congress seeking truth over partisan protection.

Comer himself has been vocal about the stalling tactics. “It has been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed to sit for depositions related to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes,” Comer stated.

He didn’t stop there. “Throughout that time, the former President and former Secretary of State have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the Committee staff’s efforts to schedule their testimony,” Comer added. That’s a damning accusation from a committee chairman.

Delays and Obstruction Alleged by Comer

Isn’t it curious how those who once wielded immense power now seem allergic to transparency? Under President Donald Trump, the current president of the United States, there’s a renewed push for accountability that contrasts sharply with past administrations’ apparent coziness with questionable figures.

The stakes couldn’t be higher with this investigation. If the Clintons fail to show up or set a date by early January, contempt proceedings loom large. It’s a potential showdown that could redefine how political elites face justice.

Americans deserve answers, not endless excuses. The Epstein saga has already exposed too many uncomfortable truths about power and privilege. Let’s hope this committee’s persistence under Comer’s leadership finally cuts through the fog of evasion.
